The Generac Wi-Fi service connects to your home’s router and internet service. It has the potential to lose its connection following a disaster such as a hurricane or ice storm, especially if you depend on a wired connection to your internet service provider. This is often true of internet service provided by cable companies and telephone utilities. Losing your internet service means you can’t keep track of the generator and won’t know if it is running, needs service, or maintenance.

The 4G LTE Active Plan gives you an added layer of protection and peace of mind. It uses the local cellular network through a 4G LTE connection. Cellular networks have proven exceptional reliability during disasters. Though the sheer volume of calls can make it difficult to reach a family member or friend, messaging and internet connections still work, even though they are slow. You’ll still get notifications from your generator.

The Generac Warranty requires you to perform all maintenance on time according to the schedule in the manual. A Dealer Managed Plan is a service and maintenance agreement with a local service dealer to maintain and service your Generac Generator.

With Mobile Link, you can connect your generator with your dealer. You’ll still see the maintenance and service alerts, but so will your dealer. If the generator needs maintenance, they’ll come out and do the maintenance. If, after several years in service, your generator needs a new battery to keep it ready, they take care of that too.

The service and maintenance contract with the company that maintains and services your generator includes the cost of the Mobile Link plan. You still have the same information, but the service dealer handles all the maintenance scheduling and does the repairs and warranty service, if required.
