New Portable Models Feature the Latest Technology
Norwall recently added New Generac portable generator and portable inverter generator models to our product line. All the generators feature COSense, a safety measure that senses rising carbon monoxide levels and shuts down the generator. Some new models replace older, discontinued models.
The new models have a broad range of uses from recreation, work, and home backup.
Portable Inverter Generators
Quiet and fuel efficient inverter generators work well with RVs, at campsites, and outdoor parties. Light and compact, portable inverter generators pack a powerful punch for their size. Need more power? Connect two inverters in parallel with a parallel kit for up to double the power capacity of a single generator. Use one for regular lights and appliances. Connect and start the second generator to run an RV air conditioner or power large appliances during an outage. These new inverters offer low harmonic distortion, enabling them to power even the most sensitive electronics.

Portable Generators
Traditional portable generators still have their place despite making more noise and a reputation for moderate harmonic distortion. Their design is based on the standard output of an alternator that produces alternating current at 60 Hertz. The engines run at a constant 3600 RPM maintained by a governor that increases power by adding fuel under load. Portable generators are powerful machines capable of powering job sites, homes, DIY projects, and remote cabins or camps.

CO Sense Automatic Carbon Monoxide Shutdown
Portable Generators equipped with carbon monoxide sensors prevent carbon monoxide poisoning by shutting down the generator if the sensor detects carbon monoxide.
Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas produced by internal combustion engines.
All internal combustion portable generators are for outdoor use only, away from buildings and people, with the exhaust pointed away from nearby buildings. Minimum safe distance from a building is 10 feet—20 feet is much safer.
Never run a generator in any enclosed space including a garage or shed. Opening doors or windows does not provide sufficient ventilation for a generator. Always take it outside.
Generac specifically states in their owner manuals and decalss on the generator that the generator should never be run indoors. COSense is a safety feature to prevent death from carbon monoxide poisoning due to deliberate misuse by running the generator indoors.
