As published by USA Today, a “Fierce Hurricane Season” is being predicted.

The article written by Doyle Rice reiterates earlier reports that the 2010 Hurricane Season is expected to be above normal activity. Hurricane season is active between the months of June and November and this year scientists are predicting the worst forecast since they began making predictions in 1998.

This latest information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) press conference has predicted 14 to 23 named storms to form and 8-14 of those to become hurricanes, 3 of which would be major hurricanes with devastating winds over 111 mph.

Doyle Rice explains that there is no way to know how many or how strong a storm will hit on land… So why would you worry? Because the extra activity increases the likelihood of a storm making landfall.

I recommend you read the article, and don’t skip over the science (it is written so it makes sense), also there are some recommendations from the FEMA administrator on preparedness, basically, just BE PREPARED, never put it off or it could become too late. There are several links in the article so you can get more information. Just keep reading…
